Fish Fix is a hagfish-based slime patch that can be used for any household or industrial leak. It can also be used to reinforce old pipes to prevent leaks. This saves water and minimizes non-point pollution.
This patch contains the fibers from the slime secreted from the glands of a hagfish. When it is exposed to water, the fibers on the patch will react with the water and absorb it to create a sticky, jelly like substance stronger than nylon which will plug the leak. This patch will have many applications that will be beneficial for household leaks. The slime itself is made up of intermediate filaments and a protein called "mucin". Threads of the protein are 12 nanometers thick and are in bundles that create the slime texture. It's your slimy solution for sticky situations! |
